What is this?
States in Numbers (also written StatesInNumbers or States-in-Numbers; statesinnumbers.com) is a learning site where kids (roughly grades 2-9) discover America through real official statistics — guess, answer, compare, state by state. Your guide is Biscuit, a cheerful golden retriever. 🐕

This is an independent, unofficial project run by an individual. It is not affiliated with the USDA, the Census Bureau, or any government agency.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every quiz uses only published primary data from official sources such as the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (Quick Stats). Every screen shows its source and how to verify the number yourself.
Built for everyone
This site follows the accessibility criteria of the Digital Agency Design System of Japan (WCAG 2.2 AA) while keeping its own look — it is not a government website. It can be used with a keyboard alone, and text size, colour contrast and screen-reader support are part of the design. “Reduce motion” in the footer stops the animations.
