Texas harvests about 1 acre in every 5 of America's sod — about 1.7× as many acres as Florida, the next state on USDA's list. Then look for Rhode Island: the smallest state of all harvests more than 3× as many sod acres as Pennsylvania, a state with over 40× as much land. Growing lawn is not about being big.
