The real order is…
Texas — and yes, rabbits are counted as farm animals: farms raise them for meat, for fur, and for the soft Angora wool that gets spun into yarn. But nobody runs away with this one. The champion keeps only about 1 in 6 of America's farm rabbits (about 1.62× as many as Michigan), and #2 and #3 are Michigan and Oregon. Oregon has more farm rabbits than California — and California has about nine times as many people. A rabbit barn is small and needs no special weather, so this ranking is not decided by big land or big sunshine.

Texas has the most, but no state runs away with this one: the champion holds only about 1 in 6 of America's farm rabbits, and the #2 and #3 states are Michigan and Oregon. Oregon beats California even though California has about nine times as many people. Rabbit barns are small and can sit almost anywhere, so this ranking is not decided by big land or big weather.
